Pint Defiance Specialty Beers & Taproom is looking for a hardworking, intelligent, and outgoing beer-loving individual to join our team!

 

WHO WE ARE:

 

We are a specialty beer store and taproom in the West Tacoma / Fircrest area. We specialize in offering a thoughtfully curated selection of craft and imported beer. Our store functions as both a retail beer store and a small tavern, pouring craft and import beers and ciders. 

 

We strive to offer our customers a unique experience by consistently providing enthusiastically friendly service on every visit. Our team works with a heavy dose of hustle, versatility, and collaboration to ensure our guests feel welcomed and cared for at all times.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

We currently have a near full-time opening that will require consistent evening and weekend availability. Ideal Candidates will have a solid foundation of knowledge of specialty beers and proven customer communication skills. Candidates must share our “customer first” attitude be able to competently and confidently make beer recommendations to a diverse customer base.

 

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Using a computerized Point of Sale system to ring up transactions for customers.
  • Floor sales and customer care.
  • Beer-tending.
  • Participating in promotions and tasting events.
  • Filling growlers.
  • Merchandising the  retail store
  • Re-stocking product (including stocking beer in the walk-in cooler.)
  • Basic opening, closing, and cleaning duties.
  • Transporting beer kegs from the walk-in to the draft coolers.

 

Requirements of the job will include, but are not limited to:

  • Must have a passion for, and a knowledge of specialty beers.
  • Ability to recommend products based on customer preferences.
  • Flexible schedule including, evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient in a sometimes stressful, multitasking environment.
  • Effective listening skills and ability to communicate tactfully to a variety of audiences.
  • Must possess a WSLCB Class 12 Mixologist Permit and a WA Food Worker Card.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
